Lightning Quick Edits
A Lightning quick edit is a small chat bubble that floats next to an element on the canvas. Use it for a small, scoped change to that one element: “make this padding tighter”, “change this heading to say Welcome”, “make the button rounder”. It is fast, and it works on the element you picked, nothing else.
How do I open a quick edit?
Section titled “How do I open a quick edit?”You need to be signed in (the bubble says Sign in to use quick edit otherwise). Then, on the Canvas view, do either of these:
- Select an element and click the bolt button on its label, Lightning edit.
- Press and hold the element for about two seconds.
The bubble opens with the cursor in the box that says Describe a quick edit…. Type your change and press Enter, or click Apply quick edit. You can keep typing follow-ups in the same bubble.
What can it do?
Section titled “What can it do?”Quick edits are for small changes to the selected element and its styling: spacing, sizes, colors, radius, text. A quick edit cannot publish your site or run commands. For anything bigger, use AI Chat.
When do I see the change?
Section titled “When do I see the change?”Changes that only touch an element’s styling classes, such as padding or colors, show on the canvas as soon as the edit lands. You don’t need to reselect the element.
Can I move the bubble?
Section titled “Can I move the bubble?”Yes. Drag it from almost anywhere on its surface. The text box, buttons and links stay clickable, so dragging never gets in the way of typing. In the conversation area, drag a little further than a few pixels: a shorter press selects text instead. The bubble stays attached to its element when the page scrolls.
How do I close it?
Section titled “How do I close it?”Press Esc while the bubble has focus. Clicking elsewhere on the canvas leaves it open on purpose, so you can pick another element and compare.
Quick edit or AI Chat?
Section titled “Quick edit or AI Chat?”Use a quick edit when the change is small and you can point at the element. Use AI Chat when the change spans several elements or pages, needs a plan, adds files, or you want to review what it did across the project.
Quick edits use a fast model that is available on every plan; see Plans & Credits.
