The Command Palette
Instead of hunting through the rail and menus, press ⌘K and type what you want.
How do I open the command palette?
Section titled “How do I open the command palette?”Press ⌘K. A box opens with the hint Type a command… (fonts, pages, terminal). Type a few letters, use ↑ and ↓ to choose and Enter to run it. Esc closes it.
What can I find in it?
Section titled “What can I find in it?”Commands are grouped. With the box empty you see the groups; as soon as you type, you get one list of matches.
- Panels: open a left-rail panel by name: Pages, Assets, Theme, Stylesheet, CMS, AI Chat, History, Audit, Docs, Environment and Cloud. There is also a Typography entry, so typing “fonts” finds it.
- Editor: Go to canvas, Go to chat view, New chat, Open code editor window (⌘3), Show Elements, opening and closing the sidebars and rail panel, Style panel and Inspector panel.
- Actions: Insert element…, Find element…, and Turn on X-ray / Turn off X-ray.
The words you type match more than the label: “typeface” finds Typography, “secrets” finds Environment.
How do I act on the selected element?
Section titled “How do I act on the selected element?”Select an element on the canvas and press ⌘P. This opens a smaller palette with only what you can do to that element: insert inside it, find, duplicate, wrap, unwrap, create a component, copy, cut, paste, select its parent and delete. Is there a palette in the Code window?
Section titled “Is there a palette in the Code window?”Yes: ⌘P searches files there and ⌘⇧P creates one. See The Code Window.
